Abel Maldonado is Republican state Senator. He has been nominated as California’s next lieutenant governor by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. On Monday at “The Jay Leno Show” Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger nominated him. He is likely to take the position of John Garamendi confirmed by a fellow republican.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said that Maldonado is the best person according to his choice as he deserved this position and work hard for the public service. He also said the Maldonado has the ability to take decision and work for the benefit of the people.
Governor’s spokesperson, Aaron McLear said that Schwarzenegger and Maldonado are scheduled to appear in a press conference in Los Angeles to discuss the new appointment.
Abel Maldonado belongs to an immigrant family which has migrated from Mexico and also amongst the close allies of the Governor.
42 years old Abel Maldonado was born August 21, 1967. He belonged to farmer family. He graduated from Santa Maria High School. He was then sent to California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo by his family. From there he majored in Crop Science. He came back with his knowledge and used his experience to help his family to grow the half-acre strawberry farm into a 6,000-acre farm.
Maldonado was elected to the California State Senate by a margin of 53% to 43% over his Democratic opponent in 2004. On 23rd November 2009 nominated as California’s next lieutenant governor by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
