In the upcoming autobiography of Andre Agassi, he admits that he used crystal meth in 1997. He lied with tennis authorities when his drug test declared positive. Eight times Grand Slam Champion writes that he drank soda with meth accidentally.
He writes
“I feel ashamed, of course. I promise myself that this lie is the end of it. The ATP reviewed the case _ and threw it out.”
His autobiography will come out on November 9 and are being published in London newspaper, sports literature and people magazine. He retired from the tennis in 2006
On Tuesday, according to people magazine’s web site, Agassi says:
“I can’t speak to addiction, but a lot of people would say that if you’re using anything as an escape, you have a problem.”
Agassi writes that ‘Slim’ was a person who introduced him crystal meth according to the Times of London website. He writes
“I snort some. I ease back on the couch and consider the Rubicon I’ve just crossed. There is a moment of regret, followed by vast sadness. Then comes a tidal wave of euphoria that sweeps away every negative thought in my head. I’ve never felt so alive, so hopeful _ and I’ve never felt such energy. I’m seized by a desperate desire to clean. I go tearing around my house, cleaning it from top to bottom. I dust the furniture. I scour the tub. I make the beds.”
Wimbledon in 1992 was the first major champion ship for Agassi. He won gold medal in 1996. In 1997 he was dropped to 141 rank. In 1998 he jumped into top 10 rank. In 1999 he won U.S. open title and became number 1.

first Phelps now Agassi… it would be better to make an example of someone who actually did *worse* after ingesting an illegal drug
