In Long Island, New York a baby girl which is said to be a new born baby was found abandoned at a lobby of an apartment building in Long Island in a small shoebox.
The new born girl was discovered by one of the residence of an apartment in the same building. The new born baby was found in a shoe box, breathing through a small hole in the box.
The new born baby girl was said to be wearing two garments and covered with a blanket. And the most shocking thing was that the umbilical cord was still attached and tied off with a dental floss.
The Police said that the shoe box had been cut in order to allow the new born baby to breathe.
The new born baby was taken care by Timothy Jaccard who is a Medic of Nassau County Police who said that he had fed the new born baby and also took her to Nassau University Medical Center and claims that she is in very good shape.
For now the police are in search of the mother of the child. The mother is said to be charged with child abandonment charges as soon as she is found. Police say that they believe that the mother of the new born bay purposely left her in the lobby of the apartment building so she could be found and taken to a place where she could be safe as the mother herself might not be able to do so. Timothy Jaccard who is also the president of the AMT Children of Hope Foundation (also known as Baby Safe Haven Program) said that the baby weighs about 5.7 pounds and has a Hispanic ethnicity.

Why would you ever charge the mother? She knew she couldn’t care for this child, she was afraid and she made a poor choice to drop the baby off somewhere….BUT the child is alive and not flashed down some toilet. Don’t charge her, thank her for giving this child a chance to grow up and maybe become the President of the UNITED STATES.
