There are many world wide competitions organized all over the world every year for the selection of best plays, movies, sitcoms and artists. BlueCat Screenplay Competition is also one of the well known competitions around the world. In this competition the writers of the play from the world take place. In this competition the best writers are selected. The writer with the highest vote is then awarded with the first prize amount which is 10,000 Dollar. Every year the deadline of the subscription of the play is 1st March.

BlueCat Screenplay Competition?s is started from Fairport, N.Y. The founder is Gordy Hoffman who graduated in 1987 from the University of Kansas. The co-producer of BlueCat Screenplay Competition is Heather Schor. Gordy Hoffman?s first stage play was ?Hong Kong? written in Washington, D.C. In 1990 at George Washington University Gordy became the member of the Jeannie McKean Moore Poetry Workshop. Recently he announced the competition for all the contests of different countries to see the hidden talents of the people. He is now well known as screenwriter, director and BlueCat Screenplay Competition founder all around the world.

In 1994 Gordy worked in Chicago?s experimental workshop and introduced his new creations through imaginative use of different voices and bodies. These plays got much fame among people. These plays were introduced in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, England, and Australia.

Gordy also worked on a black comedy about the underground donor organ market which is still pending. But his second screenplay black comedy ?Love Liza? which was directed by Todd Louiso and his brother Philip Seymour Hoffman broke all the records. In 2002 in Sundance Film Festival it also won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award.
