The 2010 Bonnaroo festival will be held in Manchester, Tenn., the same site where it was first held in 2002. On Thursday, June 10 the event will start and it will continue till Sunday, June 13. This year Bonnaroo organizers are taking a different tack rather making a big lineup announcement. They have decided to let the artists make their announcement themselves. Some of the artists have confirmed their participation while the announcement of the others is delayed. Today the organizers will publish the full list and at 12PM ET the sale of the Tickets for Bonnaroo will start at the festival’s official site.
In order to announce their participation in 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, social media is being used by the 2010 Bonnaroo artists. Outlets have already been used by the Weezer, Blues Traveler, the Flaming Lips and Phoenix for the confirmation of their participation in the event. In addition to this there has been indication regarding the participating artists by the official Bonnaroo Twitter (http://twitter.com/bonnaroo). That also includes a Tweet that indicated Jeff Black as participant. Two weeks ago rumors were circulating regarding the participation of Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews Band, Jay-Z and Kings of Leon but these artists had not announced their participation in the event. At noon today confirmed acts listing will be started by the official Bonnaroo MySpace site and the sale of the tickets will start at the same time on www.bonnaroo.com. Before the announcement of the participation of any act in December, some of the tickets were sold. And upon the announcement of the participation of any artist this News Sentinel page will be updated regularly.
Confirmed Bonnaroo artists are as given; Flaming Lips with Stardeath and the White Dwarfs, Weezer, Blues Traveler, Phoenix, John Fogerty and Jeff Beck.
