During the holidays, the students and employees of Chaffey College remained engaged in providing toys and other needy personal items to those families that are facing financial challenges throughout college districts and the collection of these toys and needy items had been started on the campuses of colleges through Monday. Community members were welcomed to donate at the campuses in Chino, Rancho and Cucamonga.
Last month the classified Senate of the Chaffey College had started to gather new stuffed animals for its 3rd annual Teddy Bear Hugs and they had contributed more than 200 animals among the children of Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. Classified Senate President Mr. Trisha Albertson said that they have received almost $300dollors in cash and this donation will be used to purchase children’s wish lists items.
The employees of the college also collected toiletries and other items for the House of Ruth. In addition of this, the Classified Senate has raised approximately $3100 which will be used for student scholarship.
The Associated students of Chaffey College hosted their 18th annual night with Santa and distributed toys and bikes to the families of Chaffey students who don’t have capacity to purchase. The gifts were distributed by the Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Eddie Sanchez, who is the old student of the Chaffey College attended the night with his 6 years old son said that his son was excited about the gifts and it was a joy to watch all other students with their families. ASCC served 90 families this year by the donations of the staff, faculty and students.
