Crystial Defanti, a schoolteacher at Isabelle Jackson Elementary south of Sacramento, California has probably made the biggest mistake of her life.
Defanti intended to make a DVD filled with school memories from the past, but mistakenly sent her students home with a DVD which contained six seconds of her having sex. These images were very inappropriate for the students to watch and as soon as Defanti became aware of the situation she took immediate action.
She started calling the parents of the children apologizing and requested the parents prevent their children from watching the DVD. According to some parents she was crying and was very ashamed of her actions when she notified them.
The spokeswoman for the Elk Grove Unified School District, Torrey Johnson said to the parents, “Just destroy them”. Some reports suggest that she will probably not lose her job because she admitted to her mistake and apologized for it immediately. However, it was decided by the board of Isabelle Jackson Elementary school that disciplinary action should be taken. Crystal Defanti was regarded as a good teacher, aside from this incident.
She was fortunate that most of her students did not see the video and it is expected that no teacher will ever make such a mistake again in the future.

Sorry, but if this were a man, he would have had criminal charges pressed against him. Not only that, but behavior like this is usually grounds for license suspension or revocation; it is that serious.
I was s***canned illegally from my teaching job because of a clerical error supposedly but was actually age discrimination, but this woman is going to KEEP her job for committing a far, far worse offense? She must be related to somebody in the school district.
Disgusting.

maybe she will resign and take up a contract with vivid video.

This woman should be thrown in jail. It’s funny how society goes easy on women and punishes men for their mistakes. And women wonder why they are never taken seriously. It has a little something to do with RESPONSIBILITY. You can’t claim to be equal to a man if you always want society to let you off the hook because you’re a “poor, innocent woman.”

“She must be related to somebody in the school district.”
Maybe “somebody” is also on the tape. . .

Boob Boob Happens… Yes, it was a mistake and she should not be fired. But I really don’t think she wants to work in that school district anymore. And, many of us want to see her six seconds of pleasure….

Susan and David are correct. Had this been a male teacher and even with calling and apologizing to the parents, he would certainly have been terminated and most likely prosecuted for at least indecent exposure.
This teacher being let off is a disgrace. She should be fired and prosecuted. (and ask yourselves, how could a mistake like this even occur???)

It was a mistake. It was her husband. What an embarrasment for this poor teacher. My heart goes out to her.

Catch a grip people, the woman was going the extra mile for her pupils, had the intention of giving them a momento of their time in her care and obviously didn’t have as good a knowledghe of the software she was using as she thought. Yes, it’s innapropriate viewing for children, not least that it was a person who they obviously should regard as an authority figure, but a mistake is a mistake and her intention was good.
As for those of you who are pressing for her to be struck-off and charged on grounds of sexual equality, surely charges could/should only be pressed if criminal intent was in evidence, regardless of sex??
Aside from that we live in a society where we are allowed to make honest mistakes, it’s called a democracy, all this over the top whitch-hunt chatter can only lead to our kids inheriting a police state system, time to rethink your views me thinks . . . .
Have a nice day
