Fabulous display by the cornerback Darrelle Revis in a New York Jets 19-13 victory over Buffalo Bills, the NFL game played at Rogers Center, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Revis is proving himself a strong contender for the title of “best cornerback in the NFL.” For the second time in the season Revis just out class Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens, he finished the game with three catches for 31 yards. Revis intercepted a deep pass to Owens with 2:02 remaining which sealed the victory for Jets.
In the last month game, Owens was held by Revis to just three catches for 13 yards. Revis performed with same ability to made Owens a nonfactor in Thursday’s night game. Revis said,
“You could see he was frustrated,”
He added,
“When he’s not getting the ball, he tends to get frustrated and I could see it in his body language.”
Revis knew the tactics of Owens as he gets involved early in the game to be front runner. Revis said,
“That’s how you play him, by getting in his face,”
He added,
“When they’re getting him the ball, he’s the type of guy that’s really upbeat. But I was pressing him and they tried to motion him to get him open.”
New York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez got a knee injury. Revis wasn’t satisfied with his miss opportunity of handling the two passes of Bills’ quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Revis said,
“I’m a little upset about that,”
He added,
“Those were big plays in the game and I’ve got to get those.”
But his performance against the receiver Owens was just over shadowed everything. Jim Leonhard said,
“Revis is amazing,”
He added,
“He catches as many passes as the receivers he goes up against. He allows us to do so many things on defense because of how good he is.”
