Rumors hit internet that Dave Chappelle, a well-known comedian would be doing an impromptu midnight show in Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland.
But is yet to confirm whether he will show up or not. Still this news in not confirmed but fans of Chappelle prepared themselves to watch the show at 10:45 p.m. in advance. A group of fans in cars drove in the surroundings of the square and the passengers in the cars were screaming,
“where’s Dave Chappelle.”
These people began to gather in the square already and they were yelling,
“It’s at midnight.”
A stage was set up in the square but it is still uncertain whether Chappelle will appear in the show or it would be a special show. The appearance of Dave Chappelle in Portland was also not been mentioned in Chappelle’s website. For your convenience, his website is www.davechappelle.com.
Dave Chappelle is a famous American comedian. He is also an actor, screenwriter and a producer for both television and film. In 2003, he became so popular due to “Chappelle’s Show”, which was a comedy television series.
Chappele used to live in a farm, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, with his wife Elaine and two sons. The names of his sons are Sulayman and Ibrahim. Chappelle is a Muslim as he converted his religion to Islam in 1998. In May 2005, in an interview, he told Time Magazine,
“I don’t normally talk about my religion publicly because I don’t want people to associate me and my flaws with this beautiful thing. And I believe it is beautiful if you learn it the right way.”
Both his parents, William David Chappelle III and Yvonne were professors at Antioch College and Howard University respectively.

i just came back from dt portland and he was there with a tiny ass amp. tight he showed up though.

is it a hoax? he could have had an adequate PA and powersource inside of a half an hour. if he wanted everyone to leave (as he kept asserting through that ridiculous little amp) he himself would just leave. (though maybe it’s just a big clusterf—!) the funny thing is how everyone just stood there, unable to hear a word this man was saying, yet still waiting for somethign to happen as cords made their way out from the stage in search of a power source. i was laughing my ass off at how disorganized it was and couldn’t help thinking that Dave and his crew were secretely doing the same….

Dave only invited 4 people he said, word spread the twitter and such ending up with about 4,000 people and ever cop in the city. He had no speakers and no electricity so he gave up and left.

its true, he was there. its also true that no one could hear anything. i just read somewhere that he started his act at 2, which is when a cop told me and my friend to “get out of here or theres going to be trouble” lame if that cop just screwed us over. funniest thing i managed to hear from him, “dont tell a secret in portland” hahaha, too true.

I was proud of Dave for actually showing up and having the nuts to address that many rowdy fans even if we couldn’t fuckin hear him. I couldn’t believe the disrespect to Pioneer Square and to his stage presence. No one would stfu, and he ended up getting crowded off the stage we practically made for him by crowding around it. Love Dave, a little disappointed in Portlanders.
Great shit watching them scale the starbucks and train stops though. Only in Ptown

Yeah me a few friends were heading downtown to have a few brews and I heard that Dave was showing up at Pioneer Square at the time it was about 11pm and I was on the max line heading west, I was with my lil sister, my lil bro and a few friends… Usually you can’t smoke cigs and deffinatley not joints or blunts or bowls in Pioneer Square… bowls of what you ask? If your to naive to know you don’t need to know lol!! “Hint” Its deliciously Green!

We got there late but I made a train and Ima big dude so I just shoved my way in not knowing where I was going and Who’d da thunk I made our way all the way to the stage!!
