Obama removed Inspector General Gerald Walpin:

In Washington on Thursday the Gerald Walpin the Inspector General of the Corporation for National and Community Service who investigates AmeriCorps and other national service programs is being removed by President Barack Obama. The president says that he don?t believe on the inspector general Walpin anymore and announced Congress about his removal soon from his position. According to the reporters President still haven?t given any appropriate reason for the removal of Walpin. He just only tells the reason of mishandling his duty in AmeriCorps.

Walpin was appointed on this post by President George W. Bush on 8th January, 2007 in front of the U.S. Senate in New York. There he was serving as Office of Inspector General (OIG), as a member of Federal agency for the tax payer supported Corporation along with AmeriCorps and also executing Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) and Senior Corps.

Walpin is a native of New York City who graduated in 1952 from New York City College. After two years in 1955 he got his law degree from Yale Law School. In law school he was also editor of the Yale Law Journal. In the United States Air Force he worked as lieutenant Judge Advocate General from the year 1957 to 1960. He was appointed as Chief of Prosecutions for the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York for next five years. There he solved many cases. He spent 40 years as senior partner of counsel to New York-based Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

Walpin was honored as ?The Best Lawyers in America?. From the year 2002 to 2004 he performed his duty as of the Federal Bar Council, the association of attorneys practicing in the Second Circuit Federal courts. In 2003 he was awarded with the American Inns of Court Professionalism Award for being outstanding younger lawyer and for also being professional member of attorney.

Walpin married Sheila and have been with each other from 50 years ago. They are living with their three children and six grand children.
