Gia Marie Carangi, a supermodel of late 20th century was among the first few hit models of Europe.

She was born on January 29, 1960 and she died in November 18, 1986 because of AIDS.

In a short life of just 26 years, she has seen the most top level of her career as a supermodel and a sever downfall too.

She started her career as a model at the age of 18. She was just 18 years olds and was freely dancing at the local disco when a photographer there asked her for a photo and in the reaction Gia started dancing fast with her open hair going every where and her arms stretched in the air. The photographer took her photographs and published them in a very famous magazine of that time.

In this was she Gia stepped into the field of modeling at the age of 18. It was no doubt an accidental entry in the fashion industry but Gia could not resist the field of modeling after once exposed to the world through a magazine.

Her 1st ever important modeling assignment was with Gianni Versace at the age of 18.

People found her different from the other models of that time, with blue eyes and blonde hair. She rather was with more of the ethnic looks.

She got fame at a very young age and in a very short spam of time.

But as every supermodel has a downfall once in his or her life, the same happened to Gia. She started shooting in drugs after the death of her surrogate mother and agent, Wilhelmina Cooper.

It was her way of getting relief of her death?s pain.

She got addicted to drugs badly and thus lost her sensual body and attractive looks.

She later got victim of AIDS as she was rapped on few occasions. And AIDS snatched away her breath very quickly leaving her body breathless.

Her funeral took lace at her small home with a little gathering of her friends and family. She is laying breathless at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville, PA.
