Australia and India played 4th ODI of Hero Honda Cup 2009 at Mohali, yesterday. It was the 15th match for the Mohali Cricket Stadium. According to the pitch consultants it was neither a batting wicket nor a bowling but it was a supporting wicket for both batsmen as well as bowlers. India won the toss and elected to bowl.
They took their 1st wicket at the total of 24 when Ashish Nehra got out Marsh at 5 by LBW. Then, Ricky Ponting came and made a record 2nd wicket partnership for Australia at Mohali with Shane Watson of 64 runs. Ponting’s individual performance is good so far in the series and in this match too, he made a brilliant 52 runs in just 59 balls. Cameron white made 62 of 71 balls. Australia made a total of 250 in 49.2Overs with a run rate of 5.06 per over. Ashish Nehra got 3 wickets for 38 runs.
Sehwag gave a better start to India he made 39 runs in just 19 balls including 7 fours. Tendulkar made 40 runs with the help of 6 fours but after these two players no other player could faced the Australian bowling side and all team went to the pavilion making 229 runs after 46.4Overs. Bollinger and Watson got 3, 3 wickets and Haurits got 2.
This series has become more interesting after Australia won that 4th match against India. Now the series is level with 2-2.
