John Stockton

John Houston Stockton born on March 26, 1962 is a retired American professional basketball player (NBA). He spent his career (1984-2003) as a point guard for the Utah Jazz of the NBA. He holds the NBA records for most career assists (15,806). But now Jason Kidd moved into second place with (10,337) career assists in a Dallas Mavericks victory over Houston Rockets (130-99). Kidd is still trailing by 5469 assists to beat John’s record.

Kidd said,

“The big thing is to just play the game. The stats and stuff will take care of themselves,”

He added,

“At the end of your career you can look back and see what you achieved.”

In the match Jason Terry had 27 points and 10 assists, Dirk Nowitzki scored 25. On Tuesday Mavericks were beaten by Golden State Warriors (111-103), but they managed to avoid back to back defeats for the first time in this season.

In their last 18 meetings, Dallas triumphed Rockets in 14 matches. Tm Thomas who had an off season knee injury scored 23 points while Shawn Marion had 12 points. Rockets had a very smooth start in the match leading by 25-13 but Mavericks pull back 26 points on a row to made the score 39-25. Houston forward Luis Scola said,

“We should be able to hang in there when they make their run,”

He added,

“Everything that they wanted to do, they did. We are not going to beat anybody playing like this.”
