Governor of New Jersey Jon Corzine called recent elections a “long, hard-fought campaign” and “quite a journey”. He made a brief speech at East Brunswick Hilton Hotel and thanked the audience for being there with him. He said that he was going to retire from politics but he will continue to express his opinion on respective political and social issues. He said that he will continue to work for the health and education of the state residents especially children.
Governor Jon Corzine is no more governor of New Jersey as the residents have now chosen a new governor for themselves and that is Republian Christopher J Christie. Corzine was a strong candidate which was seemed to be undefeatable over a year ago but the Christie defeated him in recent state elections with the help of his personal reputation and anti-Democrat wave. Corzine said that he was a bit sad with his defeat but he was happy as he had a fine time as governor. He wished Christie a best of luck.
Senate president Richard Codey said that he was disappointed from the voters’ behavior they expressed their anger on Corzine for current economic condition which is totally wrong.
“At the end of the day, middle-class voters who were most affected by the losses in this bad economy brought on by the Bush administration, a lot of them voted Republican,”
Codey said.
