Larry Johnson is barred from team activities by the Kansas City Chiefs. He apologized from his team, fans and the NFL on Tuesday. He said
“I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate, I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said.”
He posted a slur on Sunday on his twitter account in response of another tweet. The president of a national gay advocacy group is demanding from the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL to take disciplinary action against Larry Johnson, for the use of homosexual slur this week.
Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore declined immediate comment Tuesday. The matter is under investigation.
A team statement stated that the Chiefs are
“continuing to investigate the alleged comments made by Larry Johnson. Until that review is complete, the Chiefs have instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities.”
He was born on November 19, 1979 in La Plata, Maryland. He is an American football running back for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He was born to Christine and Larry Johnson, Sr. and is the oldest of three children.
