Malik Nadal Hassan is the suspected shooter who is accused of shooting the innocent human beings at the Fort Hood Army Base in Texas. According to sources, he wanted out of the army because he was very hurt from the behavior of other soldiers who used to call him as “camel jockey”.
Malik Nadal Hassan, a 39 years old American soldier, an officer of major rank, was overheard speaking negatively about America’s role in Afghanistan and Iraq. Major Nadal Malik, extremely angered, took his anger out with the help of two other army officers by shooting 12 people and wounding 31 in Fort Hood Texas.
He used two weapons and neither of them was military issued because soldiers at army base don’t carry weapons unless they are at training exercise. Initially, three people were involved but authorities believe that there was a single shooter.
“I was confused and just shocked,” said Spc. Jerry Richard, 27, who works at the center but was not on duty during the shooting.
“Overseas you are ready for it. But here you can’t even defend yourself.”
The Soldier Readiness Center is the most populated area of the Army Base that holds hundreds of people, said spokesman for III Corps at Fort Hood.
Amber Bahr, 19, who was shot in stomach and now is in stable condition said about her mother Lisa Pfund
“We know nothing, just that she was shot in the belly,” Pfund told
Hassan who was born in Suburban, Washington is single and has no child. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and he was member of the ROTC there and holds a bachelors degree in biochemistry.
“We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events at Fort Hood today,” his cousin, Nadar Hasan, said in a statement issued on behalf of their family. “We send the families of the victims our most heartfelt sympathies.”
