Maria Belen Chapur has been exposed as a mistress of Governor Mark Sanford who is a governor (for now) of South Carolina.
So now we got to know that the Governor Mark, who was missing from past few days was with whom and where!
Mark Belen Chapur, the revealed mistress of Mark is 43 years old. She lives in Argentina and she is Argentinean national too. She is a single parent of two sons. She lives in the area of upper middle class of Palermo with her teenage sons.
Unfortunately the information about Governor?s mistress, Maria Belen Chapur, is still a little doubtful. It is heard that she is a fluent speaker of English, Chinese and Portuguese. But as an Argentinean national, one expects her to speak Spanish as well.
According to a site:
?Argentine media have named the woman behind the Governor Mark Sanford love affair scandal as Maria Belen Chapur.
Argentina’s national media said Maria Belen Chapur is a 43-year-old woman with two teenage sons. Maria Belen Chapur lives in an upper middle class area of Buenos Aires. Maria Belen is divorced and lives with her sons, local news said.?
Everyone is searching the pictures of Maria Belen Capur, but no one claims to have found one except one site which says that Maria Belen Chapur has worked as a journalist and has reported on the 9/11 attacks.
Here is the video of Maria Belen Chapur, according to the only site who claimed to have her pictures.

We mus’t forget that Ms Chapur is also the forgotten victim. This is obviously a true, and sincere love affair. Compatibility and same age group. The governor’s marriage was not very strong. Or he will not have had to find a confident. The governor should step down and get a divorce. His heart is with Ms Chapur.

Victoria….your nuts!!!! Maria is no victim she is dating a married man, she is a middle aged woman and knows what she was doing. Monica Lewinsky was a victim but not this lady. Jenny and the kids are the victims. They had no idea about Maria but Maria knew about them. Although, I agree with you Mark and Maria deserve each other, both are selfish, self centered adults who look alot alike.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:36 am
I think Maria is very beautiful and can see why Gov. Sanford could not resist her. He obviously did not have a good relationship with his wife.
He should divorce his wife and move to Argentina!
June 29th, 2009 at 1:15 am
Every woman, yes, adult women, that hit on Clinton wanted an advantage or favor.
June 29th, 2009 at 1:20 am
Why should he step down? He’s a governor, Clinton was the president and he didn’t.
June 29th, 2009 at 1:47 am
We sure do have some dumb@ss guys in politics. These guys think they are above the law and can get away with anything. In the long run these greedy B@stards all get caught one way or another. Do they really think they will get away with what they do? Just be up front and you will “NEVER” make the front page news. Good job reporter for catching this fool. Once a cheater(liar) always a cheater(liar).
June 29th, 2009 at 2:26 am
Victoria–either you have your morals turned upside down or you’re a — —— like Maria. Sleeping with a married man?! What kind of values is she passing down to her children and broadcasting to the world? She is nothing more than a piece of shit. No wonder she’s divorced, I wonder how long it took her ex-husband to figure out that she’s a slut. The real victim here, as Jane had said, is Jenny and her kids. Jenny successfully managed Sanford’s elections and practically devoted her life to his career objectives and this is how he pays her back? Shame on you Sanford!…oh, and you seriously have poor taste to sleep with this mannish slut with a horseface.
June 29th, 2009 at 2:31 am
His apology to his cabinet seemed very insincere. Jenny was right when she expressed her concerns for the character of her children; he is obviously lacking in integrity. The three of them are highly intelligent individuals. If he was my husband, with much heartache and difficulty, I would tell him to leave. Jenny is beautiful, she will find a better man. Maybe Ms. Chapur and Mr. Sanford are genuinely in love; but something tells me its the excitement, elusiveness, and secrecy of it all that is what is truly alluring to them both. Sounds exciting to me, but most likely not intended to last. Another American family destroyed.
June 29th, 2009 at 2:41 am
Jane, you are the one who is nuts! “Monica Lewinsky was a victim ” What!!?? She messed with a “married man”, just like Maria. Obviously you are a Democrat and just like making situations that are just like that of a Democratic President seem way worse just because the guy is a Republican. Get over yourself! Clinton and Sanford should be buds since thay are both now equal.
June 29th, 2009 at 3:04 am
She, Maria, is NOT victim. She is involved with a married man, which makes her void of any sympathy or remorse. The wife and the children of their marriage, whether solid or not, are the only ones to be feeling remorse for. If there were troubles, Mr. Governor should have taken care of such before tramping of with another woman. Ms. Maria, should be thinking of what kind of example she is setting for her two children. Being the half participant of an AFFAIR is not the message I would want to send my children. And let’s not forget this last little tryst was over Father’s Day, classic, really classic.
June 29th, 2009 at 3:51 am
I full heartedly agree with Jane. The governor and the woman were well aware of their options. It appears that the governor is so concerned about his political career here and that’s why he opted to continue to be married to his wife but yet share another woman’s bed. If he were truly wanting to do the “right thing” then he should have held no press conference, sought out his wife and kids and abandon his political career. He laid this shame at their doorstep and instead of chasing his family, or going back to Argentina and choose Chapur, he decided to face the media in an attempt to save his career. What an arrogant S.O.B.
You gotta love Jenny though!

THE SANCITY OF MARRIAGE… THE SANCITY OF ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN… THE VOW OF MARRIAGE, SANTIFIED BY THE HOLY BIBLE…THE HOLY GHOST …BY JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
SANFORD, EDWARDS, SPITZER, CLINTON, THE NEVADA SENATOR GUY, GINGRICH..
BLESS THEIR HEARTS… BLESS THEIR HETEROSEXUAL HEARTS DEAR GOD,
AMEN
June 29th, 2009 at 6:23 am
I think all of your should mind your own business and get a life. Even though the governor is a public figure, his personal life it is not YOURS. I hate people pointing fingers at other people’s mistakes as if you all were perfect beings. When it comes to point fingers at others, it comes so easy to you all ah? But don’t like it when is done to you. OH yeah i know, i forgot, you all prefect. Get a grip. I’m surprised people act so surprised like our country is the perfect immaculate example of marriage fidelity. The divorce rate and infidelity in this country is like number one in the world. Get use to this and stop pretending like is a big deal. Get a life really.
June 29th, 2009 at 11:24 am
I think it is interesting, Mary, that you think those commenting here should mind their own business, when it is obvious you are spending time here and reading comments. The governor chose to make this public, so he no longer has the right, as a man of the people, to privacy in this instance. And he was the one of the biggest finger pointers around. I believe Americans are so tired of the hypocrisy of many politicians (Dems and GOP alike)–those that condemn the adulterous actions of their colleagues but think nothing of doing it themselves. Sanford falls right into that catergory of the pot calling the kettle black. And then to compare himself to King David’s adulterous affair in the Bible, as if God condones his actions and wants him to continue as governor, is outrageous. Time for a new governor, South Carolina. This one is so full of himself.
June 29th, 2009 at 11:50 am
He’s a piece of shit as is his mistress. J Sanford should dump his sorry ass – he isn’t worth the grief.
He still hasn’t said he called it quits with the bimbo.
Their email exchange made me puke.
I’m so sick of these assholes apologizing after the fact. Old fools should know better. You aren’t happy, get out of the marriage. Lying and cheating SO lacks honor.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
I think This old fart is just having his last affair, Please A pathetic Old man, This mistress is nothing special.
Poor Guy I feel sorry for him
June 29th, 2009 at 12:18 pm
What bearing does this man having an affair really have on his ability to serve as governor? The only parts of this story that should matter to anyone are the fact that he admitted a mistake and that he took off without telling anyone. The fact that he was diddling some Argentinian woman should be irrelevant.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
The “private life is not yours” comments are missing the point. It’s not about public versus private; its about hypocrisy. If you win office based on a platform or record of accomplishment, that’s your public life and maybe you can claim your private life should be private. But if run for office on a “family values” platform, where you tell people to vote for you because of your values, critisize other politicians for not living up to your high “standards” and distribute pictures of your adoring wife and cute family all to gull votes, then you’ve chosen to put your private life in play.
And its a fair charge that if its shown you were lying about that, what else are you lying about.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
He should step down, not because he’s an adulterer, but because he can’t be counted on to make rational decisions and because he disappears without letting anyone know where he’s going. He has responsibilities and needs to be available. He’s shirking his duties. And I have no sympathy for him or the “other woman” as they both knew what they were doing was wrong (which apparently only made it hotter for them). If you don’t want to be married, don’t be married. If you’re married, do the right thing. It may not be easy, but it IS simple.
June 29th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
A.GUY…..I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT AND I THINK YOU MISREAD MY POST..i BELIEVE mONICA WAS A VICTIM, SHE WAS ONLY A KID..MAKING WHAT CLINTON DID MUCH WORSE THAN SANDFORD IN REGARDS TO INFIDELITY. aND cLINTON WAS IMPEACHED FOR LYING UNDER OATH ADULTRY IS NOT GROUNDS FOR PEOPLE GETTING KICKED OUT OF OFFICE…I DON’T THINK SANDORD SHOULD LOSE HIS JOB FOR HIS INFIDELITY WITH A WOMAN IN HER 40′S NOR DO I THINK EITHER ARE VICTIMS NOR DO i THINK IT IS ANYTHING NEW, MOST POLITICIANS DO THIS. i DO HOWEVER BELIEVE SANDFORD SHOULD LOSE HIS JOB FOR LEAVING THE STATE WITHOUT NOTICE AND NOT TELLING HIS STAFF WHERE HE WAS, ARGENTINA, NOT WHO HE WAS WITH, WHO CARES…THE MAN IS UNSTABLE,IRRESPONSIBLE, HAS POOR JUDGEMENT AND I HOPE WE HAVE SOME ONE BETTER RUNNING ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET THAN HIM. i BELIEVE HIS WIFE WOULD BE A MORE SOLID STABLE CANDIDATE FOR GOVENOR OR PRESIDENT.
June 29th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
When president Clinton messed around, here’s what Sanford said:
“I think it would be much better for the country and for him personally (to resign). I come from the business side. If you had a chairman or president in the business world facing these allegations, he’d be gone.” [Sanford on Clinton, The Post and Courier, 9/12/98]
“The issue of lying is probably the biggest harm, if you will, to the system of Democratic government, representatives government, because it undermines trust. And if you undermine trust in our system, you undermine everything.” [Sanford on Clinton, CNN, 2/16/99]
June 29th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Not sure why everyone is throwing stones. They aren’t doing anything illegal, just immoral. They will have to answer the ultimate judgement, but we aren’t the judge. So, let’s leave them alone to their personal issues and move on with our lives. If anyone can claim that they are truly sinless, let he cast the first stone. The marriages of politicians aren’t any different than the average public, just more publicized. Now, I’m sure everyone can agree that Mr. and Mrs. Obama work at their relationship, since it appears healthy and they respect and love each other immensely. Theirs should be an example for all married couples to work toward a happy marriage. The problem is that people sometimes marry for the wrong reasons and without a good foundation, nothing good can grow. Good luck y’all.
June 29th, 2009 at 3:19 pm
He cheated, in his world the only thing he did wroong was getting caught. As for his wife, a victim of what. These high society women out there really do not care about what their spouse does as long as it isn’t made public to embarass them. This is very common amongst the elite. I do not feel sorry for any of the adults involved. The children are the victims, because they have to put up with people like us expressing our opinions and passing judgement when we really do no know the real truth. I will say this, the chick is kind of hot.
June 29th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
First, this reporter is not ugly by any means. The horseface comments are not needed to make your point ADULTS.
Cheating on your spouse is morally wrong. This is between the cheater and injured spouse to deal with.
Don’t know much about the reporter, but who knows why here and her husband really divorced.
The bigger issue is how was the Governor at his job? Let’s see he abandoned it for what 3-7 days and did not let the assistant Governor take over. He refused stimulus money that leaglly, the State Leadership was willing to accept for various projects simply as a political move towards his 2012 bid for President.
Yes, Clinton had an affair (and probable more than one). He was impeached for lying when people were asking about PERSONAL issues. I guess he could have pulled a George W Bush and simply refused to answer questions and claim Presdential Priveledge!
June 29th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Stop bringing up President Clinton anytime someone else has an affair…let that go, or else also bring up how good the economy was back then, before George Bush ruined everything. Don’t hate on Clinton because women wanted him, and no one wanted Bush but Laura!
The real issues for Gov. Sanford are lying to the constituents, and whether he used state funds for his little rendezvous in Argentina. THAT is what he should be in trouble for….let his wife handle the personal side (and she seems to be doing that quite well).
June 29th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
What you need to know is that most Argentines (I said, most, not all) have no morals. They all get a divorce at least once in their lifetime, don’t believe in love that lasts forever, get a kick out of seducing a married person. Most of them are like animals. Unless you live there you’d never understand what I’m talking about. Even now, they don’t think this affair is immoral and caused a lot of pain to Sanford’s family. They think it’s fun that an Argentine woman seduced some American guy in power and, let me tell you, they’re quite proud of it!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Friendship turning into love, or being a form of love? Nothing new here, and anyone risking his marriage must be well aware that things can get out of control despite his thinking the opposite. And anyone going into it with the hopes that the friendship might change course, well, it is a risk that works sometimes, but most times it doesn’t.
As to who is the victim here? No one! In fact they are all partner in crime, each in his/her own way. An outsider can never know the motives to start such relationships.
It is unfortunate that his family was made so aware of the details, especially since it looks like he never had any intention of breaking his marriage. As we all know, what we don’t see does not hurt as much as when we see it, which makes me wonder who the real culprit of leaking those e-mails is,(for more reasons than one). Do you have as suspicious a mind as I do?
One thing I will never understand though: Why is everyone so obsessed with the private lives of public figures? It is a lot of baloney to claim they are examples for us. They don’t do anything more or less than any other person, and no one would be hurt if what is private remained private. Why should we care? To me, if they do their job well, that is all that matters.
Having said that, any one knows how these two met? lol
June 29th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
His wife can then be considered “beautiful”, too, and is free to enjoy the cabana boy now- let’s put things into perspective, shall we? I’ve seen pics of both and the Mrs. looked just as attractive as this one- and inner beauty really adds to the outer kind, any man worth it would agree, I’m sure. Let’s not feel TOO sorry for the wife- everything happens for a reason.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
1. No woman, who has an affair with a married man, is a victim. Monica wasn’t a victim and neither is Maria. Women are just as capable as men and need to be held accountable for their own behavior – just like men. I’m my opinion, both Maria and the Governor are equally to blame for the affair. In fact, anyone who believes women are victims here is basically saying women are incapable of making good decisions when powerful man pursue them. I’m sorry, but I’m not buying it. Women are better than that.
2. The Government should not step down because of the affair. Those private actions are between him, his faith, and his family.
3. On the other hand, leaving his post for several days *is* a serious issue that warrants further investigation. If the average Joe left his job for several days without notifying his employer, he could be terminated on the spot. Clearly, his affair is clouding his judgment. I do not think the Governor should step down; however, he should receive a written reprimand for leaving his post without temporarily transferring power while he was out of the country on personal business.
June 29th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
I find it soooo funny that a lot of women here are throwing shit at the lover. What is it that scares you the most? Because obviously you are exposing your own fears with your rabid words. So the wife is the good one just because she has a signed slip of paper? Alas, you rely too heavily on an age old farse.
And Horseface? What? God, you must be really ugly! Only an ugly woman would not want to see that this woman is pretty good looking.
And Argentinians have no moral???? Wherevere did you get that? That is just sooo funny! And racist ! You all scare me more than the situation going on here! I say don?t feel to sorry for the wife. To me, she comes across as a selfish bitch. After all, it seems he was attracted to Maria?s ability to love…not her ability in bed.
I think this man is truely in love. I hope he marries her.
July 2nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
Maria has given the Governor a permit to travel down Agentina’s version of the Hershey Highway, comparable to a stretch of road in America that has long been strictly forbidden by the first lady.
“The destination is fantastic, but getting there is half the fun.”
July 2nd, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Women who have affairs with married men are NOT victims. They’re cheap, low-class, uneducated whores with agendas, Monica L., included. Men who cheat on their wives are sick, selfish, disrespectful, narcissistic pigs. If you’re in a committed relationship, married or not and want to have physical/emotional relationships with others, get out of the current relationship first!!
July 2nd, 2009 at 8:06 pm
Sanford called from Argentina and his aides heard him say I’m in Appalachia hiking the trail…. Bad connection… What he really said was I’m in Argentina getting some tail.
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:27 pm
The governor’s hypocrisy is huge. If he truly felt that Clinton should have stepped down due to losing the trust of America, then Sanford needs to do the same.
I hope his wife kicks him to the curb. She has the money. What he did is shameful. His wife found out about the affair and asked him to not go. If he cared one whit about her or his children he wouldn’t have gone. He gave his wife, children, his job, and the people of South Carolina the proverbial finger by going any way. It is all about sex – soul mate my ass. He is a selfish prick.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:24 am
His wife is crazy if she takes him back. His teary eyed apologies are disgusting. I would tell him to fall back in love with someone else – leave me the “H” out of it. Loser-freak.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:31 am
Jane , you little halfwit…how was Monica Lewinski a “victim”???
Anyone whose morality sees the equal and consenting liason of two people in terms of victim and victimizer is either a wacked-out fundie or has an nfantile worldview. Sheesh!!!
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:33 am
“J”, another nincompoop. Not only is the U.S. divorce rate 17% higher than in Argentina, but it is 34% higher in South Carolina and the Bible belt than in the mostly Catholic Argentines.
July 3rd, 2009 at 2:48 am
Governor should resign. Once a cheater always a cheater. Does not matter if it is in marriage or at work. Secondly, Maria no matter if beatiful or not is probably looking for a free ride coming on the account of a successful carrer that his wife has helped him build. I do not think so darling, find your own horsey LMAO
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:46 pm
I don’t think this Maria is so beautiful. If Sanford really loves her, he’d divorce his wife. He is a jerk who wants it all.
July 4th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
Why doesn’t he leave, get a divorce and have an open relationship with Maria? Nobody can force him to stay. What he said in his tearful interview was cruel to his wife. I think he wants to get kicked out so as to blame the wife for breaking up the marriage and family. She isn’t making it easy for him by offering forgivenss, I think she knows that and good for her. If he wants out, then he needs to walk out on his own.
July 5th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Angie, the difference in Clinton and Sanford is that Clinton’s personal life was his personal life. Sanford left us (South Carlinians) in total limbo without transferring power to anyone while he skipped off (lying all the while about his whereabouts and couldn’t be reached) to have his little flingie-poo with a mistress. I don’t give a crap who he screws. That’s between him and his wife. But to leave us with no leadership left us without anyone to handle things in a state of emergency. South Carolina’s constitution (100’s of yrs. old) doesn’t address what a State of Emergency would be…it’s up to the gov’r. What if we’d had wildfires like we just had at Myrtle Beach? What if a hurricane had rolled in? Nobody could call out the crews, nobody could call out the National Guard, we’d just be screwed. Bet Sanford’s little love-of-his life isn’t feeling to great about finding out he was out doing other women, too. Put the emphasis on where it belongs: the State, not the marriage. ANYONE who left his job without contacting the boss, couldn’t be reached, and didn’t come to work would be fired IMMEDIATELY. I say fire the basturd and let our State get on with the important things. Suits me fine if he goes to Argentina, but I doubt Maria would be thrilled about taking him back, either.
July 11th, 2009 at 11:18 am
Why has no one realized that Mark Sanford left his post as governor to make his trip to Argentina? I would think that should be enough to have him impeached. If a soldier deserts his post, he would be court martialed.
July 13th, 2009 at 12:50 am
I’d have more respect for him if he left his wife and had an open relationship with Chapur. All this insincere manipulation seems like just that… insincere and, to be perfectly frank, gutless…
And yes, btw, I’m a married mother of two. And my husband and I have talked about encountering this very situation. And we agree that if one of us believes we’re in love with someone else, we’ll split and do what’s right which is not to live in a sham of a marriage.
July 16th, 2009 at 8:40 pm
You cannot compare Sanford or Ensign or Larry Craig or any other GOP scum bag to Clinton because Clinton did not hold himself out there to be a holier than thou guy. Was Clinton a PROMISE KEEPER like that retard Ensign? Did Clinton preach against gays then go blow men in an airport? Did Clinton preach against the very things he was doing in his private life?
People hate HYPOCRITES! That is why Clinton is so beloved. He is a real flawed man and does not try to hide behind some fake christian set of morals.
Clinton also did a great job. What GOP moron can say that?
August 7th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
WHAT A CROCK…
I AM SO SICK OF THE NUT-JOBS IN THIS JOKE OF A COUNTRY TRYING TO LEGISLATE MORALITY…
BIG DEAL…SO HE BANGED A LATINA HOTTIE….
August 8th, 2009 at 1:02 am
I wonder if they have a sex tape
August 8th, 2009 at 3:51 am
I have read by several posters that Sanford’s private life shouldn’t matter to the people of SC. Wrong, wrong, wrong! I live in South Carolina. His actions speak volumes about his total lack of character. He made a commitment to his family, the same as he did for the state of SC. If he can’t live up to his vows to do what is best for his family, how can we expect him to do what is best for us. The adulterous, arrogant jerk should not hold any office.
