Matt Hamill was born on October 5, 1976 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. He is an American wrestler and mixed martial arts fighter. He engaged with Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York and became three-time NCAA Division III, National Champion in wrestling. He won gold medal in freestyle wrestling and silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling.
He was taught about wrestling by his stepfather. His stepfather was the wrestling coach at Loveland High School. He was married with a deaf woman and divorced later. The upcoming movie “Hamill” is about his early life and wrestling career. The movie is produced by Joseph McKelheer and directed by Eben Kostbar. Brittany Houck is a girl friend of Matt Hamill. They are engaged and planning to marry in 2009.

He was having knee injuries and remains out for some time after knee surgery. Coming back from knee surgery, Hamill is ready to face undefeated light heavyweight Jon Jones at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale.
