
Nancy O'Dell
American television host and entertainment journalist Nancy O’Dell is leaving the show “Access Hollywood” after 13 years. She is leaving the show two years before her contract expires, according to People.com. Her final show on “Access Hollywood” will be this week. She has yet to make an announcement about her future plans. She will be making her next scheduled broadcast appearance as host of the Tournament of Roses Parade live on NBC on New Year’s day.
Her rep said in a statement,
“The original member of the Access Hollywood family, co-anchor and respected broadcast journalist Nancy O’Dell, has chosen to leave the show after 13 years. O’Dell appreciates NBC’s cooperation as she begins this next chapter in her career. Even though she will be leaving for a new opportunity, this decision is based totally on Nancy’s desire to take her career to the next level and is completely amicable. She will continue on with projects as a broadcast entertainment journalist.”
Nancy was not satisfied for the past several months with the show’s more sensational direction, according to People.com. A source told people,
“She has spent a lot of years building respect in the entertainment community and celebrities trust her. She’s known as the nice and classy girl. She values that.”
In 1993, Nancy joined NBC’s WTVJ in Miami co-anchoring the news with Jackie Nespral. She co-hosted the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on WNBC from 2004-2006. She also co-hosted the Miss USA 2006 pageant with Drew Lachey, the Miss Universe 2006 pageant with Carlos Ponce, as well as the Miss USA 2007 pageant with Tim Vincent.
Nancy spent seven years as a news anchor and investigate reporter. On June 29, 2005, Nancy married an executive for Conviva Networks, Keith Zubchevich. On June 11, 2007, she gave birth to her first child, daughter Ashby Grace. Zubchevich has two other children named Tyler and Carson. Nancy O’Dell is also the MDA National ALS Ambassador.
