Today is National Wear Red Day of 2010 and it is a day when everybody must wear red in an order to support “Go Red For Women” foundation. It was American Heart Association that actually started that campaign and the motto was to encourage woman to get education about their life risks. According to the reports, statistics and researches, our 90% women have at least one risk and they are dying with these risks with an alarming ratio i.e. one woman per minute.
Adding fuel to injury, Heart disease is at the top of the list. About 450,000 women die every year with the risks that could be controlled. Diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, smoking, alcohol, high cholesterol, physical inactivity and depression are the most affecting factors.
On National Wear Red Day, many conferences are held in an order to educate people about the risk of cardiovascular disease and they also tell the ways to tackle with this disease.
