After a run in with the law, the beauty who recently became Miss England has given up her title. The name of the beauty queen is Rachel Christie. On suspicion of being involved in a night club assault, Rachel Christie was arrested recently.

According to alleged reports, Christie punched Sara Beverly Jones (a fellow pageant contestant) in the face. The reports suggest that she punched Sara Beverly Jones – Miss Manchester, during an argument about a person who have dated both the girls. Rachel Christie has given up her title on her own as she could focus on clearing her name.

On Christie’s decision to give up her title of Miss England, the pageant organizers responded with the statement given below:

“Due to the media attention following the allegations against her, Rachel Christie has now decided to withdraw from the Miss World competition and relinquish her Miss England crown. Rachel will concentrate on clearing her name and focus on training for the 2012 Olympics until this case is resolved.”

Rachel Christie is also an athlete. She was hoping to compete in the Olympics but her arrest made it difficult for her. To won the Miss England title, Rachel Christie was the first ever African American woman.
