A last minute stunning effort by Rob Bironas as his 53 yard field goal earned Tennessee Titans victory over Houston Texans. In the Monday night NFL game Tennessee beat Houston (20-17), although they lost six games at the start of the season but now they have won four straight. That was a game of high quality in which kicker Rob managed one more field goal than Kris Brown who plays as a kicker for Houston.
Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said,
“That was how we had to win that game and he knew it. It was right on the borderline of his distance,”
He added,
“It was a perfect snap, perfect hold in a pressure situation.”
It could be worse for Rob if he missed the last chance because he missed a 49 yard chance in the first half.
Rob said,
“First one was a little bit rushed. It was out of sequence for us as a unit,”
Monday night belongs to his 53 yard field goal, he was sure that he would never miss the second chance. He said,
“I knew if I got another shot out there, it was going to go down the middle and that’s where we put it,”
His 53 yard field goal was longest of the season for him. Coach Fisher was ready to take all the blame if Rob missed the chance, He said,
“I knew it was just barely inside his range and had it been short, it would have been my fault,”
Houston’s Brown 49 yard shot missed the target, Rob said,
“I feel for Kris (Brown), he has a couple of tough, close misses but that’s what we needed to get the victory.”
