Ronnie and Donnie Galyon were born in Dayton, Ohio on October 28, 1951. They are world’s oldest living pair of conjoined twins. They are joined from the sternum to the groin, were delivered vaginally. Ronnie and Donnie Galyon are the only adult male conjoined twins in the world.
They were raised by their father Wesley Galyon and their stepmother Mary as they were rejected by their mother, according to Ward Hall.
They were taken to the hospitals for several time in the first two years of their lives. The doctors tried to examine whether these two could be separated or not. At the age of? 2 years and 5 months, they learned to walk. Since an early age, they also have battled anger problem and got into fist fights over the years occasionally. On of the twins, broke his foot in anger after kicking a trailer. They were 14 at that time.
Mr. Galyon thought that he would never put his sons on exhibition and he wasn’t able to pay the medical bills. In an air-conditioned trailer, the twins were exhibited for the fiest time. In 1988, J. David Smith discusses some of the tests conducted on the brothers in his book Psychological Profiles of Conjoined Twins and he determined that their IQs are in average range but it was the lack of education that made them slow.
Ronnie and Donnie toured Latin America, appearing with Circo Union in Mexico after the backlash of the 1970s made life difficult for human freaks in the United States. Ward Hall and Chris Christ managed them in 1980s. They cast two votes but have only one passport.
Now they are living in Ohio, with their younger brother Jim. They used to play baseball with Jim. Cincinatti is their favorite team. They are fond of watching sports and movies on television and also love fishing. If anyone asked them for their separation, they reply at once,”No Way!”
