American popular vocalist, Ronnie Spector born on August 10, 1943. She was the lead singer of “ The Ronettes”.
Ronnie is known as the “ original bad girl of rock and roll.” Her real name is Veronica Yvette Bennett. Her family encouraged her for singing so she started singing in an early age. The Bennetts’ mother was African-American and father was Irish and at one point in her life she was not sure if she was black or white.
In 1968 she married to Phil Spector but Phil’s dominating attitude led to the dissolution of their marriage. She wrote about her marriage experience with Spector the:
“I can only say that when I left in the early 1970s, I knew that if I didn’t leave at that time, I was going to die there.”
The chart ranked group broke up in 1966 and never reunite until their 2007 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . The group were managed by Phil Spector. In 1970s, Ronnie reformed the group with two new members. Bennett also sang a song with the Danish rock group” The Raveonettes” for their album.
Recently, Bennett’s new album “Last of the Rock Stars” Has been released and she herself co-produced two songs of her album.
