On Tuesday in afternoon a huge destruction in Santa Barbara?s north is made by fire. The hilly area of the city is caught by fire where around 200 homes are totally destroyed. The area round about 500 acres is on fire. 8000 people living there started moving to the safe places. Most of the people are going towards the California coastal town. Santa Barbara?s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced emergency after knowing about fire he asked people to move towards safe places and demanded federal emergency funds to work on the critical situation caught by fire.
To control the fire about 900 firefighters, air tankers and helicopters are doing their job. But they seem to be hopeless because of wind which is up to 50 mph. during the job three firefighters got injured due to burns or inhaling smoke. These injured firefighters are admitted to Grossman Burn Center in Sherman Oaks. The fire is also entering into the nearby town Mission Canyon. The head of the fire department of County Santa Barbara David Sadecki reported early in the news that the fire was out of control but due to low winds now they got some control on fire.
Few years back in 2007 in the hilly area of California the same nature of fire was erupted. That was also the worst case of the history. In that fire 8 people were dead, near about 2,000 homes totally destroyed, 640,000 people were homeless and the destruction caused billion dollars of damages. In November 2008 at least 100 homes were caught by fire in Montecito near Santa Barbara. Unluckily California?s hilly area where many people are living is constantly being hit by the disaster caused by the nature in the form of fire.
