Sesame Street is going to celebrate their 40th anniversary on 10th of November, this week. FOX news visited to chat with kid’s favorites Elmo, Grover and Abby Cadabby and it was a fun to chat with those behind the scene who bring these funny friends.
Characters told that they love to learn, Abby Cadabby, said that he learns something in every moment and he loves it. Grover proudly told that he could count to 20 and Elmo says it’s really cool to learn something new. Carol-Lynn Parente, Executive Producer of Sesame, said
“Education has been the top priority since the start, but, the methods we’ve used to teach the curriculum, the ABCs and 123s, that’s changed a lot over the years.”
They also focus on current concerns such as healthy eating and obesity. The show has criticism on its inception through the years. Parente said.
“If you look at those early years of Sesame Street, there was lots of concern that we were creating short attention spans in kids because the show was so fast-paced, because it was modeled after commercials and advertising. But if you watch those shows now, they look so slow-paced.”
Parente commented that the kids who once loved to watch it now has their own kids or even they have their grandkids as well. The show was first aired on 10th November, 1969 with a view to teach little kids, with fun and play, the basic education.
