The host of WFHN FUN 107.1 FM radio, Sharon Fogaren Santos has died. Sharon Fogaren Santos was also the co-host of the morning radio show, “J.R. and Sharon”. The “J.R. and Sharon” was a hugely popular show, but it would never be the same again without Sharon Fogaren.
Today, the news of Fogaren’s death was announced by JR at 5:30 am. Previously, JR had alerted listeners on August 31, 2009, that the condition of Sharon Fogaren Santos is critical. Her health condition was unstable since she suffered a heart attack two weeks ago.
The following message was posted by FUN 107 for the listeners:
“We here at FUN 107 have lost one of our family members. Sharon Fogaren, who has been a part of FUN 107 listener’s morning routine off and on for the past 14 years has passed away due to complications of a heart attack she suffered two weeks ago.”
FUN 107 also thanked her supporters in the posted statement,
“We thank everyone for their continued support, prayers, and we would like to continue her memory here on FUN 107.com and we send our condolences to Sharon’s family and close friends.”
Sharon was a resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts. She received a degree after graduating in Speech Communication from Bridgewater State College. She began her broadcasting career from in Taunton from WPEP-AM. She also worked in Boston, MA, Providence, RI and Orlando, Florida in radio.
Her funeral arrangements have not been announced yet.
