Shilpa Kundra and Raj Kundra

A night to remember for Shilpa Shetty as she weds British industrialist Raj Kundra. This must be the wedding of the year, Shantanu and Nikhil designed gold and scarlet sherwani for Raj who was in a horse drawn chariot which takes him to the Bawa Villa. Shilpa was dressed in gold, crimson and burgundy saree designed by Tarun Tahiliani.

Spokesman for the family said,

“She was surrounded by her closest friends and family and the wedding was conducted in traditional south Indian rituals,”

A friend of Shilpa, Kiran Bawa said,

“Everything went very well, all parents want their children to get married happily and that goes the same for Shilpa’s parents as well. They are very happy. Raj and Shilpa both were very nervous before the marriage but now they are happy too.”

Well Shilpa expresses her feelings, she said,

“This is my dream wedding,”

She added,

“We plan to shuttle between Mumbai and London after marriage. I shall strive to be as successful at home as I am outside. I want to excel as a homemaker.”

However the musical band appointed for the wedding had some other ideas as they started to play songs from the movie “Dhadkan” in which Akshay and Shilpa acted together, may be the band tries to remind her ex-boyfriend.

Shilpa and Raj will be holding a grand reception in Mumbai, all the big stars will come to wish the couple at the Grand Hyatt. Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and family, Shah Rukh Khan and family, Farah Khan, Rekha, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, the Deols, Sushmita Sen, Salman Khan and Vijay Malya will be the guest at the reception ceremony. For the grand reception Shilpa has invited Shane Warne and popstar Jermaine Jackson too.
