
Simon Monjack and Brittany Murphy
On December 20, 2009, famous actress Brittany Murphy died at the age of 32 from cardiac arrest. Brittany’s mother, Sharon Murphy discovered her unconscious in the shower and when paramedics arrived, determined the actress was in full cardiac arrest and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Simon Monjack is the widower of actress Brittany Murphy.
Simon Monjack was born in 1970 in Hillingdon, Greater London, he is a screenwriter, director, and producer. In 2000, Simon wrote, directed and produced the B-movie Two Days, Nine Lives. In 2006 he wrote the screenplay biopic Factory Girl. In 2007, Simon was set to direct a movie adaptation of D. M. Thomas’s novel about Sigmund Freud, “The White Hotel” with Brittany Murphy to play the leading role. Sadly the project never came together.
The couple did not announce their engagement beforehand, and rarely made public appearances together before their marriage. Brittany Murphy married Simon Monjack in a private Jewish ceremony in May 2007.
