Veterans Day, also known as Armistice Day, is an effort of honoring the veterans of War.1st World War was came to an end after The German signed “Armistice” at the eleventh hour of eleventh day of eleventh month of 1918.
It is a legal holiday in USA both federal as well as State. It was in 1938 when the American president declared it as a National Holiday.
Among the total 24 million military veterans of USA, West Virginia represents the most veterans of country that is 202,000. Veterans Administration says that there are 2.2 million living veterans of World War II and 900 of them are dying every day.
Frank Buckles, 108, is the only living veteran of World War I he joined army at the age of 16.
621,000 Americans have been dead in World War I, World War II, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Vietnam War and the Korean War.
