BlizzCon 2009 has began with style by Blizzard as a brand new expansion pack for the World Of Warcraft has been announced by them and the release date is October, 2010. According to Chris Metzen, the Vice President of creative at Blizzard, the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will prove to be revolution in online multi-player game.
There are several new features included in the new expansion pack of the World Of Warcraft. The character level cap was raised to 85, and it is one of the latest features. With this, seven new playing zones are added in the latest edition with new character classes. For both the Alliance (Worgen) and the Horde (Goblins) factions, two playable races are started. The expansion pack also include a number of new monsters and several new quests.
WoW environments have been changed and extend to a next level as the dramatic storyline boasted the game physically and it is said to be the biggest feature. Another declaration about the releasing of Starcraft II will surely see the light of the day. The people who attended the BlizzCon 2009 were amazed as they watched the stunning trailer. It was really stunning and interesting to watch.

Lol @ giving the horde worgen… The undead try to kill worgens not make friends with them. Also the goblins were originally on the horde side during the 2nd war i believe so its like they are just going back to a previous home for them. It makes sense.
The only problem now is that we all have to wait……….

don’t like the waiting time and the alliance worgen either (I would like it more for horde) but at the other side, Horde had a lack of small characters since alliance has 2 already ^^,
but at the other side, about october 2010, let’s hope they just want to themselves a lot of time in the hope they won’t need so much time and the release might be sooner..

1. You won’t be able to play a Gnome Shaman.
2. If they didn’t put out a rough release date, they would get flooded with the question of when it would be coming out.
3. That one guy is totally correct about Worgen / Goblin lore. It just wouldn’t make sense to give Alliance Goblins.
Also let’s not forget that both the expansions that have come out have been pushed back from the original date they released. I wouldn’t hold your breath yet.

The expansion itself looks very promising. It’s good to hear about the much-needed revamping of the old world. Should make leveling one of these newer races a bit more enjoyable.
Fail at the release date, but I guess it’s good time to catch up on the lore and say goodbye to some of the lands that face dramatic shift in the wake of the approaching cataclysm.

I will be quitting this game soon. “We are always looking for ways to improve how player stats work. Our long-term plan is to simplify statistics and provide a more clear understanding of their effects on healing and damage dealing. For example, Spell Power will no longer be its own statistic, and Intellect will provide its benefits instead. We also plan to make Spirit the definitive mana-regeneration statistic, in which case we would remove the mana-per-5-seconds stat from gear. Confusing stats like defense and armor penetration will likely go away. Of course, existing items will be updated to reflect these changes. We’re also adding a new stat called Mastery, which ties into a character’s existing talents and will grant a unique function for each class. A rogue, for example, might gain an extra combo point through the Mastery stat.” This means less individuality less self accomplishment. The game isn’t getting any better with the mindless people slapping anything on like hunters with expertise, and shamans with spirit it will get even worse with these changes. Then there are the people that simply face roll through content that has been nerffed so bad looking for some kind of notoriety as if they accomplished something by doing simple tasks like purchasing a hair cut. If I were to purchase another game it would be Aion or something else than Cataclysm for this reason alone. I guess I wont go away empty handed I can always sell my 6 level 80 toons.

Why not have the ability to chose whatever faction you want with whatever race you want? Screw all the restrictions! Tauren on the Alliance, Draenei on the Horde. Worgen for both! Everyone is happy!! (Jania Proudmore – an example of being on “both” sides.) Leave the racial restrictions for PVP servers and let the rest just enjoy the multitude of possibilities in the game!

I think it was a mistype. Im thinking next month or november it will be released. Look at the video. Blizz already formed the new landscapes and finished the characters. For all we know, they have been working on this for half a year already and simply chose not to announce it. All they have to do is push it on the next patch and wait for ppl to start buying expansion codes.

This new expansion will kick ass but im worried about how it will effect casters since they get nerfed half the time. Blizz should bake another heroic class but its a caster that can wear leather or something. I also agree with i stab bliiz is probably playin us since its nearly finished!

I agree with imbah, Lets enjoy wotlk. And go around in the old world a bit, enjoy the way it is for nostalgia’s sake, once it changes, its never going to be the same. Not that thats a bad thing, but just enjoy the now, and when it comes out, it will be fun Im sure.

My guess would be it will be out around Chrsitmas. When they released WoTLK,
they “unveiled” it merely months before the release.
Around Christmas makes the most sense to me, anyways!

I would have to say this is coming out in NOVEMBER 2009! If you watch the trailer to the expansion you hear the commentator say,”..while the battle is still raging on against the Lich King’s forces in Northrend.”
Blizzard already announced the next major content patch was going to be the opening of Icecrown Citadel. I’d imagine they are going to squeeze this expansion in between and make Icecrown Citadel a level 85 raid in the next major content patch in May 2010.

and also to make it more like ‘YES A LEVEL FINALLY!’ instead of ‘i dinged 9 levls to go.’
they’ll make every level take double XP of what it was supposed to (so it’ll be like 5 Mil each level)

Icecrown Citadel WILL be the next & last major wrath of the Lich King Patch.
it will come @ December / January.
After that they won’t make us wait more than 5 months (thats a max tbh) b4 releasing new content, wich will be Cataclysm.
my guess is that we’ll have to wait between 6 and 9 months b4 cataclysm is here.
I read this on different pages (mmo-champion was one of them) and thats what my guild says aswell…

That would be incorrect… Read the cataclysm site and it will tell you why, but it does not say that so you kids need to stop assuming things you do not know.

October is the last month that you can release something to have it on hand for Christmas sales. Be it calendars, books, games, whatever, it needs to be out by October to be ready the commercialized Christmas season. So, Christmas 2010 is their goal. Just hope that they can meet their goal, because a year isn’t that long when it comes to all the work, re-work and testing that has to take place. It’ll probably be more like June 2011.

It is what it is. Give ‘em the time they need. Surely they have a bit of stress without us stomping our feet like 3yr olds having a temper tantrum. Personally i would rather it take a while and release smoothly, that to have a rushed buggy patch.
I have not really liked the direction Blizzard has been headed anyways. All the PvP related nerfs are slowly mushing all the toons into Jello. Each class is continuously losing its strengths, and now with this release, losing even more of their individuality. If this were to continue for say… a couple decades, its my belief that all WoW toons would have exactly the same abilities, just with different graphics. Black and White merging into a Gray Abyss.
I like the fact, that Taurens/NightElves are the only race with the ability to become a druid shapeshifter, it fits a storyline. Undead Hunters? Are you kidding me? Bleh..
But i will continue to play regardless, I suspect. I do enjoy the game. Endless entertainment for 15bucks a month.

Well I dont understand the fuss about No thats to long for me!!! Well honest are you going to die without the X-pack?? I didnt think so. Well I have been playing WoW now from the start, and have enjoyed the game very much I am looking forward to the new world. Although I am choosing to be very patient and await the release date it does help I am in Iraq and wont be back state side until 2010

omg.. blizz have messed up big time.. this expansion is making the game stupid,, removing mp5,expertise ect../slap in the face , and changing tallent trees to the path thingy.. where you can only get more by doing instances and achievments.. /kick to the stones , imho there making the games for 8 year olds… taking out all of the stats, and thinking required .. which is what all role play games are about. and as for the worgen/goblin debate.. its pretty obvious that everyone will be switching to ally and being worgen.. goblins look naff/stupid/uncool/lame/weenie/weak/ect .. and worgen look big/big teeth/big claws/evil/strong/mean/ect … hmm tough choice . and for new class combinations.. i really cant see the point in it.. allthough a tauren shadow priest is gonna look really silly . the onyl 2 good things i can see is.. 1) only 5 levels of grinding , and 2) guild levels and achievments , then you can see who the real hardcore raiding guilds are, not some lying fake wannabe’s .
and a new proffesion .. i can only hope its better than inscription.. that must have been a huge joke to see who took that.and for the relase date….. i hope there gonna have to put it back more and more .. and more.. like prefereably never, make a new game of warcraft… where everyone starts from level 1 with no money, alts to boost.. ect, with all new engine that works, better gfx, less lag/latency ,better races , better use of classes so that every calss is usefull and unusefull in equal ways and none are op , better money system.. as its a joke to make money atm ,make it so the game patches are all free.. no extra expansion fees(as we pay enough to play)and most importantly make it so accounts cannot be bought/sold on ebay , and goldsellrs/farmers are banned automatically… id much rather see that than expansion after expansion….

To all those saying, “If you like this expansion your immature 13year olds and younger” I say wrong! I am almost sixteen and I think its a good idea. Wrath has been out for almost 2 years and they want to introduce a new expansion bi- annually (every 2 yrs). And we are not immature just because we like the expansion, we think differently thats the privilege of livin’ in AMERICA!!!
