Yesterday, WWE superstar wrestler Umaga died of a heart attack. According to reports Wrestler Edward Fatu, commonly known as Umaga, died of a heart attack in the hospital of a TexasThe 36 years old Umaga was born in famous wrestling family “Anoai” in American Samoa.
Anoai family has given America one of the most famous wrestlers including Dwayne Johnson “The Rock”, Wild Samoans ( star of 1980s), Sam “Tonga Kid” and Solofa Jr. “Rikishi”.
He won intercontinental championship for two times and was titled as “The Samoan Bulldozer”. WWE had terminated his contract for having violated the WWE’s Wellness Program this past June in which he had refused to enter rehab. On his death, the WWE Organization offered its condolences with the family of star through its site in a statement given below.
“To friends and family, Fatu was a devoted father who was looking forward to spending more time with his children after leaving the WWE.”
Dawn Marie Psaltis who is the family friend of Anoai family and the founder of Wrestler Rescue Group (Wrestler Rescue is a foundation which helps retired professional wrestlers) said on his death.
“He had his demons, but he found a lot of strength in his family,” said Dawn Marie Psaltis, family friend and founder of Wrestlers Rescue. “He was always a jokester, he was always playing a practical joke on someone. He comes from a long line of professional wrestlers and did his family proud.”
