New York Yankees have won the World Series Championships and now New York Yankees fans are anticipating Ticket-tape parade. This will be the 9th Ticket-tape parade for the New York Yankees, the last one was a years later in 2008.
The first parade was held in 1886 and the first athletes who were honored with the parade were the 1924 Olympic team players and Albert Einstien was the only scientist who was honored with Ticket-tape parade three years ago.
The Yankees have honor to win the title more times than any other major professional sports team in North America. They also contains highest payroll in baseball that is $208 Million, $63 Million more than New York Mets.
Forbes magazine had some research on franchise value and according to them they are highest baseball franchise with $1.5 Billion Dollor including $375 Million in revenue.
Last night, Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies with 7-3 and won the World Series Title for four games to two. They sold 46,440 tickets in their first season.
Bernhard Schroeder, director at San Diego State University commented on the win like that
“In places where baseball is coming up they are looking for the reigning champion,” Schroeder said. “That’s what this will do. It will bring in the next generation of Yankees fans.”
